How do I solve the first challenge?

I can't figure it out.

Hey Topher,

When adding variables you don't want to give the numbers in the function. You want to make variables like a math equations

def add(a, b):
  return  a + b

Then you will want to call def add with the number you want to add together (A and B)

def add(a, b):
  return  a + b

add(1,2)

Thanks Andrew, now I can't figure the next challenge, but I'll keep working at it.
