How do i use .format() the way this question is asking?

I don't remember seeing this in the video and I cannot seem to play with it to get it to produce the results I need.

The .format method fills a placeholder, designated using curly brackets or braces { }, in a string.

name = "Nick"
subject = "Treehouse loves {}".format(name)
