12,780 PointsThis Worked for me. You have to concatenate both variables with .toUpperCase(); The '#' has to be in the middle as well.
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
