HI,
Someone took their picture with mobile, or a screenshot. I know that image has details on what time it was took, location etc..
So, how does that work? For example is someone sends me a picture, but the person is anonymous e.g. on facebook, how can i find the location? Or at what time the picture what taken?
What is this process called? Also, to add, is that one of the part of how the 'FBI' does it, or it's a fiction? Or ? If you deleted pictures form your laptop, by mistake, they are gone, can you crack them? Like the 'FBI' , at least in the films does it? What about location?

Treehouse TeacherHi there! I believe what you're referring to is the EXIF information of the photo. This stands for "Exchangeable image file format". There are free tools online for viewing metadata relating to an image file.

Also, Googling for "image metadata" should get you some decent results.
As for the FBI and how they do it: anyone who could answer that question likely wouldn't be allowed to answer that question. Also, I don't spend enough time watching films to know to which films you're referring.

I saw a comment of a guy taking a picture of his car with a flat tire, and if hes gonna be late he will send the picture, and someone else wrote that if the guy , the boss knows how to extract the image, he might know the truth : d and i remembered about the FBI. SO was wondering.
I don't know, but this stuff is soo interesting.
Because I'm not in the slack group anymore, coudl you tell me about the books on the computers, and all that stuff , the titles again please?

Treehouse TeacherI apologize, Mr Bond 007. I do not remember recommending any specific book. I do, however, remember you asking about networking and computer hardware. At which point, I suggested looking into the CompTIA A+ and Cisco CCNA certifications as a starting point. And if you're interested in those topics still, you might look into them.
They will, however, not make you an expert on InfoSec. Good luck!
