Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types Del

How do you to add a new variable named total. Then assign the sum of current_count and upcoming_releases to total.

assign the sum to current_count

delete.py
current_count = 14
del current_count
planned = 5
del planned
upcoming_releases = 2
del upcoming_releases

1 Answer

On the first task it simply states to delete "planned". You answered that correctly with the line del planned. The second task simply states that total equals current_count and upcoming_releases. You are simply stating in code that total is equal (=) to current_count (+) plus upcoming_releases. Your code should look like the following:

current_count = 14
planned = 5
upcoming_releases = 2
del planned
total = current_count + upcoming_releases
