CSS How to Make a Website Beginning HTML and CSS Write a CSS Selector and Property

how do you write the css that will select the h1

I don't know it

index.html
<body>
    <h1>element and a </h1>
</body> elemnt. add a <style> element just above the <h1>

Hey Aquiyama,

Your coding up in the box was a little confusing but I figured out what you were trying to say in it.

To specify css, it needs to be within the head portion of your text so it would look like so:

<head>
    <style>
        /* style selectors here */
        h1 { color: blue; }
    </style>
</head>

Then your main body would look like so

<body>
    <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
</body>

So altogether it would look like

<head>
    <style>
        h1 { color: blue; }
    </style>
</head>

<body>
    <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
</body>

To write css for this you want to write the selector which in this case you want to select the 'h1' element. So what we do is we write h1 { property: value }. Here is an Example h1 { color: white; }
