For example, a calculator takes input and returns output after adding or subtracting or any other operations.
to describe a function in python we use a keyword, 'def'
def function_name ():
....
....code goes here....
to give an argument as input, we mention them inside the parenthesis.
def function_name(arg1, arg2, arg3, arg4...):
arg1+arg2/arg3*arg4....
return return_what_function_is_suppose_to_return
In above task...
def add(arg1, arg2):
return arg1+arg2
To apply exception handling we do something like...
def add(a, b):
try:
return float(a) + float(b)
except ValueError:
return None
