I do not believe the video player currently has the option to select the streaming video quality.

But there is a solution other members with lower bandwiths have been using and that is to go to the "downloads" tab under the video and download the "standard definition" video file which is a smaller file size. The only down side is that you will need to manually go to the end of each video on the website to track your progress.

Sean Gaffney Is this a feature that could be added for members with lower bandwiths or slower internet connections?

This is a feature that is definitely on our radar.

I updated my wireless card to the newer dual band. Asus has external and internal models. It helps with the download times. Mayk

This feature is so important for us who have a slow internet connection or unstable bandwidth. Other learning website such udemy, udacity they offer that. I wish I can get that here too.

Hi, is there a roadmap about implementing this feature? Some of us would like a lower quality, but I personally find the video a bit grainy. I just hope Treehouse can offer 1080p, 720p as well as 480p and 360p streaming option, like those tutorials on YouTube.

+1 for resotions choices.

Better video compression could be an option, plus treehouse does not make it easy to navigate this site when the video loads each time you to read the questions people post.

+3 for an option to switch resolutions.

I'm wondering if I can use what I learned in the js.mediaplayer tutorial to add it for them in my own browser :P

It would certainly be easier if they did it tho ^^^^

+6: I'm using a raspberry pi computer to use Treehouse, and the computer is having a tough time staying cool because of the high res videos. Lowering resolution would be super helpful. I don't want to ruin the computer!

+7 please add lower video resolution
