So far I can't get the var to be assigned to the correct function call return code
function getYear() {
var year = new Date().getFullYear();
}
var yearToday = return getYear;

Courses Plus Student 6,734 PointsWhen you have a function and you want it to return a value it should be inside the function itself like so:
function getYear() {
var year = new Date().getFullYear();
return year;
}
var yearToday = getYear();
you can test it by logging it to the console like so
console.log(yearToday);
