How to kill the execution of an infinite loop within the command window/terminal

Had written my script wrong and got trapped in an infinite loop. Instead of closing workspaces/command window/terminal how can I just kill the execution of the script? I tried ctrl+c and it didnt work.

Thanks!

Try refreshing the workspace window with F5 key. Your code should still be there. No guarantees though!
