How to pass an input value from a dialogbox to the activity?

I am trying to pass an input value from the dialog box as a string and later passing that value to MainActivity class.

public class PlaceDialogFragment extends DialogFragment{

    @Override
    public Dialog onCreateDialog(Bundle savedInstanceState) {


        Context context = getActivity();
        AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(context)
                .setTitle("Location Name")
                .setMessage("Enter the name of the place");

        final EditText input = new EditText(context);
        builder.setView(input);

                builder.setPositiveButton("OK", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() {
                    @Override
                    public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int which) {
                        //get text to string
                        String text = input.getText().toString();
                    }
                });


                builder.setNegativeButton("Cancel", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() {
                    @Override
                    public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int which) {
                        dismiss();
                    }
                });





        AlertDialog dialog = builder.create();


        return dialog;

    }



}

I want to pass the string "text" in the MainActivity class. Not sure how to do it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
