        if items=items[0]: # equal is assignment operator, by the way, what are you checking for, 
#shouldn't you be checking for letter "a" at index 0 of the working variable
            print(items) #you should be printing the working variable not the list
#if you are checking the working variable against the letter "a", continue should come in with the if
#and else part should only be printing
            continue
