HTML course too easy after 'How To Make a Website' course?

I am on the PHP Track and have just finished the first course 'How to Make a Website'. I've moved onto the, now unlocked, HTML course and it seems incredibly basic in contrast and I'm finding myself getting quite bored watching the videos. Should I be skipping onto something else or does it get more complex?

Totally agree with you. And most of all, outdated. I think that Introduction to HTML and the Portfolio Project is waaaay better for beginners.

Do not be deceived by the ease of the course. Nick covers the basics of HTML semantics nicely in that course. You also get exposed to lots of new tags that you will otherwise not come across. It is very useful in my opinion.

It being dead easy is a plus because you can just watch the video and add to what you have learnt / reinforce your knowledge in the area.

Take on PHP after that if you are looking for a challenge ;)

I'm doing the same track, and already have prior knowledge of HTML & CSS, but it seems to me that the HTML course should have preceded the 'How to make a website' course....because if you're brand spanking new to HTML then I imagine you're pretty lost in the 'How to make a website' and would have benefited from first going through the HTML course.

Watch it at 1.5x speed, quicker to get through if you find it all easy, and it reinforces what you have learnt in the 'Create a website' course

Yes, this might have been better before "How to Make a Website." That being said, even though I'm not new to HTML, this is a great refresher course and does reinforce the basics, which is always a good thing.

HTML is easier than PHP in my point of view. If you know some HTML you can skip or fast-forward the videos. If you don't know HTML or would like to start afresh, even if it seems boring I suggest you stick to it.

I'm also doing the same course with some background in HTML and CSS but to be honest, practice makes perfect. If you have the time take the time to refresh your mind. If you're already an expert, you are probably in the wrong course curriculum and there's something better available for you else where.

Wasn't there some re-arranging of courses not too long ago? I think as courses are added, the tracks are changed as well. I was on Nick's course first, and then found myself with Guil. Then there was an announcement about Joy's courses so I did those and I believe they are what should have been first.

I think the php track needs to be re organized. I joined to do php not html or css.

Hi Anastasios, You don't need to do html or css, maybe you didn't realized that because you are new. The tracks are tailored for total beginners, someone who doesn't know CSS and HTML shouldn't jump to PHP before hand, since you want to do PHP alone you can check and/or follow its courses from the library - PHP Library .

There's actually some HTML methods, input types, values, among other things that are essential in making your PHP functional. Don't take HTML for granted!

Like some of you guys have mentioned, I am brand new to this in general. I came into this knowing absolutely nothing. I am about done with the "How to make a website" course, but I wish I would have been introduced to this before.

This course is good even if you did how to make a website lol it actually tells you a bit of stuff, and what's more, this is probably the best for beginners. Better than 'How to make a website' for starters.

Yes it is looking easy but this just the basics but some of the functions are related with PHP. On the other hand, if you decide to learn CSS or JavaScrip both are going in combination with HTML.
