I am not sure how to apply the .toUpperCase string method to the id variable and the UserName variable.

30,234 PointslastName.toUpperCase(), Type it in your console and you'll get "SMITH" or set a variable : var myVar = lastName.toUpperCase(); and check by doing console.log(myVar);
The userName variable is undefined so it won't work.
sorry, meant id.toUpperCase(), but it works the same
