Ruby Ruby Booleans Build a Simple Todo List Program Returning Boolean Values: Part 2

I am not sure why this method is not passing, appreciate any suggestions.

Need to fill in the contains? method to return a boolean value if the todo_item array contains the name argument.

todo_list.rb
class TodoList
  attr_reader :name, :todo_items

  def initialize(name)
    @name = name
    @todo_items = []
  end

  def add_item(name)
    todo_items.push(TodoItem.new(name))
  end

  def contains?(name)
    todo_items.include?(name)
  end

  def find_index(name)
    index = 0
    found = false
        todo_items.each do |item|
      found = true if item.name == name
      break if found
      index += 1
    end
    if found
      return index
    else
      return nil
    end
  end
end

It looks like todo_items will be an array of TodoItem objects and not the names of the item like you expect, so that could be why the contains? is failing. Basically, I think contains? is looking at this

[#<TodoItem:0x007fff04364f38 @name="eggs">,#TodoItem:<0x007ftge04123f38 @name="milk">,#TodoItem:<0x007fff04564f38 @name="cheese">]

instead of

["eggs", "milk", "cheese"]

As Johnson Report pointed out, the todo_items array will be of TodoItem objects, not strings. The simplest way to solve this would be by using the find_index method already defined in the class.

Alternatively, if you wanted to skip ahead a little, you could look at using the any? method on Enumerable, which is similar to include? but allows you to specify a block to determine if an object in the array matches your criteria.
