i am slightly confused as to how i keep screwing up

adding just the image. Do i need to not put href=" in front of it?

Kevin, If you only want to add an image, then just the source tag is fine. If you want to hyperlink it, then you would also need the href tag...

<a href="img/picture1.jpg"><img src="img/picture1.jpg" alt=""></a> <!-- this would add a pic with link -->
<img src="img/picture2.jpg" alt=""> <!-- this would add only an image, no hyperlink -->

I hope that helps.

Kevin, you should use src to include images to the page.
