I cant resolve this challenge!

lists.py 
states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]
states.remove ([5])

Hi there,

You don't need the square brackets around the 5; just pass the item you want removing in the parentheses.

then why in the previous video we had to use .remove([ ]) to remove from the list?
