Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Raise an Exception

i cant see why this code is wrong?

My code seems correct to me. please can you advise....

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    return product_idea + "inator"

product_idea = input("Product Idea ?   ")
if product_idea <= 3:
    raise ValueError("needs to be 3 or more characters long")

Here's a few hints:

  • all the new code should go in the "suggest" function
  • all code inside a function must be indented
  • the testing (and possible raising) must be done before the "return" statement
  • you'll want to test the length of the string instead of the string itself
  • you won't need to "input" anything, just use the argument passed in

I spotted another error. it should have been

if len(product_idea) <=2: 

i was doing <=3

Or just " < 3", which would be a more literal representation of "less than 3 characters" in the instructions.
