isPalprime is a method on the checker, so it has to be called on $checker. You don't need to test against true, a conditional does that already.

Following seems to work

<?php

include("class.palprimechecker.php");
$checker = new PalprimeChecker;
$checker -> number = 17;

echo "The number  ".$checker->number;
echo ($checker->isPalprime())? " is ": " is not ";
echo " a palprime.";

I assume you're comfortable with the ternary operator.
