I couldn't format display_menu to menu.

It says "didn't find the right series of sundaes and commas in 'menu.'" I can't figure out what's wrong.

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes=available.split(';')
menu="Our available flavors are: {}"
display_menu=', '.join(sundaes)
menu.format(display_menu)

Hi Bob,

Although your logic is on the right track, the issue is that you aren't permanently changing the "menu" variable on your last line. Simply using .format() on a variable without assigning it to anything won't actually redefine the value of that variable.

The challenge is looking for the complete formated string to be stored in "menu".

menu = menu.format(display_menu)
