I didn't get why we needed to clear both to bring down copyrights text below navigation

In the last task at the end of this section, we were required to get the copyright text below the navigation. We achieve it by clear: both css property on copyrights class. ...css .copyright{ clear: both; } ... I don't get this. Why did we needed to do this. We already clearfix the navigation header in previous task.

The clearfix is applied to the footer to correct its height. It only affects the container it is applied to, not the contents.

The copyright element is inside the footer so it needs its own "clear" property to place it below the floated items. Otherwise, the floated items will appear beside it.
