How come task one is not passing?
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();

41,751 PointsYou forgot a set of parentheses after id.toUpperCase. All methods need a set of parentheses in order to work whether they take an argument or not.
Your code:
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
The correct code:
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
