14,568 PointsI dont get it (Drupal). How is this making PHP any easier?
The calculate sum module has 54 lines of code and multiple functions to make a simple form and handle the submission of it. How is this making PHP any easier? I could have done the same thing in much less code and not having to learn Drupal specifics and unique names for things. To me it seems like a lot of effort to create something that is fairly simple in PHP.

14,864 PointsI think that like every program (like CMS in this projext ) there are pros and cons. In this type of PHP project the idea is to let someone else to manage his site without your intervenance. That said, I agree with you that this kind of function can take a four/five lines of function but framework let you work the way the framework wants and that is the con of this drupal.
