I don't know exactly what I should do in this objective

In this task I'm supposed to have a word in which I should have no vowels. I tried every looping function that I know but every time it returns to me a Bummer.

disemvowel.py 
def disemvowel(word):
    word = list(word)
    vowels = ["a", "e", "i", "o","u"]
    word.remove(vowels)
    return word

Unfortunately, remove does not remove all instances of a value within a list. It only deletes the first find of the instance. Here's an explanation of my solution:

  • Go through the letters of the word
  • For each letter, if is not a vowel, append it to an accumulating variable
  • Return the variable
def disemvowel(word):
    new_word = ''
    for letter in word:
        if letter.lower() not in 'aeiou':
            new_word += letter
    return new_word
