NSString *color = @"Purple";
NSString *preference = @"My favorite color is ";
NSString *favorite = [preference stringByAppendingString:color];

14,957 PointsIt's just the way the method works. But think of it this way: Append always means to add at the end. In other words, the last argument will end up last in the completed string
