4,844 PointsI don't know why this code won't pass. Please help.
I am supposed to create a conditional statement that displays an alert message when the condition is fulfilled. But it won't pass the code.
var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');
if ( answer === 'Javascript' ) {
alert('You are correct')
}

15,922 PointsHey Gianpaul, This is an example a very nuanced behavior of the Treehouse course when it is checking for the correct answer. You currently have the following code in app.js:
var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');
if ( answer === 'Javascript' ) {
alert('You are correct')
}
However, the way the system is checking for correctness is whether you are comparing answer to JavaScript such as this:
var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?');
if ( answer === 'JavaScript' ) { //Notice that capital S
alert('You are correct')
}
When you are working through the exercises, I would be careful of these small differences. The failure messages typically try to hint at these without giving you the answer. Just know these things will happen from time to time and make sure you are testing for the exact values. Hopefully this gets you up and running! Happy Coding!
