I don't quite understand exactly I am doing wrong with this.

I feel like this is the right way to select it and I even re-watched the videos. Am I missing something?

Hi Darrin,

You are selecting the correct element, but the challenge isn't asking you to assign the element to the variable, but the value (provided by the user) into the <input> element.

You need to access a specific property of the selector object and then assign that to the variable. The name of the variable will give a hint as to what property of the selector you are looking for.
