I don't understand the '<' and '>' symbols well, I'm sorry. I'm having difficulty finding what is wrong with the script.

For example:

money >= 100

Do I read that as money is greater than 100?

I appreciate the patience and effort in anyone willing to help me, I feel so dumb.

Thank you in advance!

script.js
var money = 9;
var today = 'Friday'

if ( money >= 100 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time to go to the theater");
}

else if ( money <= 50 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie and dinner");
}

else if ( money >= 10 || today === 'Friday' ) {
  alert("Time for a movie");
}

else if ( money >= 50 || today !== 'Friday' ) {
  alert("It's Friday, but I don't have enough money to go out");
}

else {
  alert("This isn't Friday. I need to stay home.");
}

Hi Val, you can read those signs like this:

">" Greater than

"<" Less than

">=" Greater or equal to

"<=" Less than or equal to

=== means equal to and also of the same type (e.g. if values at both sides of the === are string, integer etc.)

So if we would look at your first if statement:

if ( money >= 100 || today === 'Friday' ) { alert("Time to go to the theater");
}

If money is greater than or equal to 100 OR today equals to Friday (and both are of type String), then it will alert "Time to go to the theater".
