I don't understand the question where you have the find the selection with the ID gallery. None have it.

I don't see an ID selector for gallery, or any of the element that seem to contain it in HTML. What am I missing?

I think you're just missing width: 100% on the img. 

img {
  max-width: 100%;
  width: 100%;
}
