You need to use try/except for this challenge rather than if/else. The trouble with your solution is that if your argument cannot be converted to an integer, it just causes an error, and the else block never gets executed. Here's a template for what your code should look like, I'll leave you to fill in the details:

def squared(num):
    try:
        # Convert num to integer, square it, return.
    except:
        # Return num multiplied by its length
