WordPress Local WordPress Development Local WordPress Development Migrating WordPress from Local to Live Server

I previously installed WordPress in a live hosting environment. Can I still migrate my Local site? Will there be issues?

I followed along with the Installing WordPress videos to install WordPress in the live hosting environment. Viewing my public_html folder on the host side, I see that a wp-admin folder (and others) already exist there. Should I remove that content and migrate the local stuff?

Thanks!

If you don't have any need for the files and database on your live server I suggest removing them and uploading your complete site.

If the WordPress versions are the same on your local machine and on the live server you could just upload your theme(s) and plugins to the live server (in the appropriate directories of course), then migrate your database and everything should be fine. Just be sure to follow the steps necessary if you need to update URLs in your database before testing the site on the server.
