This video isn't clear and introducing Hallo on the fly like that throws me far off

7,913 PointsI was way lost on this too, but I borrowed your code and found that when I added an '=' between $render and function it worked! You were so close - just a small syntax error got in the way.
ngModelCtrl.$render = function() {
var contents = ngModelCtrl.$viewValue;
console.log(contents);
