i have been going at this for a while and just can't seem to get it. Help would be very appreciated.

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
menu = "Our available flavors are: {}."
display_menu = sundaes
menu = "Our available flavors are: {}.".format(", ".join(display_menu)

You've got most of the right bits, just not in the right places.

When they say, "Combine the sundaes list into ... display_menu", instead of just a plain assignment they are suggesting that you do a join on the sundaes. Then, on the last line, you just need to apply format to the template string using the joined list.

And you don't need to repeat the template string, it's in "menu" at that point (before you reassign it).
