I think there's a bug in Challenge Task 3 stating: "Bummer! The Portfolio list item should link to "index.html"

I've input the following:

<nav> <ul> <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li> <li><a href="contact">Contact</a></li> </ul> </nav>

Not sure why I'm getting this alert.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
        </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hi Jamie,

I think the error might be showing up due to the position of the nav rather than what it details. You have the nav element inside the link rather than after it.

 <a href="index.html">
        <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
        </nav>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>

The contact link also looks to be missing the .html extension.

If you move the following to after the closing a tag and add the extension I think that'll sort it:

<nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
        </nav>

Hope that helps.

You could also go back to the video and pause it when you see Nick's complete code for that challenge, then check with your code to see whats diffrent. this is going to help on you problem solving and you most likely will find the reason for the error message :)

also when watching the videos, try to have workspaces open in a seperate windows and follow along as he types.
