Identical code runs in one place but not another

I've just started this challenge with this line of code: var noun1 = prompt("Please enter a noun:"); It doesn't run. I commented it out, typed an IDENTICAL line of code, down to every character, and it runs perfectly. Why would this happen?

EDIT: On playing with it, it seems the problem is that I can't create multiple variables, and if I do the program just doesn't run at all. The internet seems to think this isn't a thing. Why isn't it working?

It sounds like there could be some other factors in your environment affecting this. To make a complete analysis possible, make a snapshot of your workspace and post the link to it here.
