I'm getting the message task 1 is no longer working why?

I have tried to put the try block before return and before float and before def and none of the places are working I feel like I don;t fully understand the try block they went over it very briefly in the video.

trial.py 
try:
    def add(num1, num2):
    return(float(num1) + float(num2))
except ValueError:
    return(None)
else:
    return(add(num1,num2))
