Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

I'm lost - please help!

I have tried everything I can think of, not to sure how to complete this challenge!

trial.py 
try:

def add(float(hey), float(hi)):
    return(hey + hi) 

except ValueError:
 return (None)
else:
  return(hey+ hi)

Hi,

I think the problem with your code is that the try keyword is outside the function definition. Also converting the two input arguments into floats in the function definition may also be causing a problem...

Here is what I think would fix your issue:

def add(arg1, arg2):
    try:
        arg1 = float(arg1)
        arg2 = float(arg2)
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return (arg1 + arg2)
