Ruby Ruby Operators and Control Structures Ruby Control Structures Else challenge

I'm not sure if my syntax is correct here?

I think there is something missing here, not sure where I may be going wrong?

ruby.rb
car_speed = 55
speed_limit = 60

# Write your code here
too_fast="true"
if car_speed > speed_limit
  puts "true"
else
  car_speed < speed_limit
 puts "false"
end

1 Answer

Hi Justin,

Almost but little errors, we put new variable (too_fast) under IF statments, we don't add "puts" to prompt the messages to inform users. Just if the car_speed is faster that will set true otherwise false if car_speed is slower than limit.

if car is faster than speed limit
    variable_name = true
else
   car is slower than speed limit
   variable_name = false
end
car_speed = 55
speed_limit = 60

if car_speed > speed_limit
  too_fast = true # variable name equal to "true" if the car_speed is faster than the speed_limit
else
  car_speed < speed_limit
  too_fast = false # variable name equal false if the car_speed is less than the speed_limit.
end

Hope that helps :blush:

perfection! Thank you. I didn't even take into consideration that I was attempting to print something to the screen...wow. Thanks again!
