I'm not sure what's wrong; why is my return not working? error says 'task 1 is no longer working'

Any input? The var year = new Date().getNewYear(); is a line the quiz had me add so I'm not positive if something in there is wrong..

script.js
function getYear() {
  var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year();
}

You need to remove the parentheses after year. You only include the parentheses in a function call. The year is just a variable that can't receive any parameters.

function getYear() {
  var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year;
}
