JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Passing an Argument to a Function

I'm not sure why this isn't storing the result of the returnValue function into the echo variable..

JavaScript var returnValue = function(singleArgument) { return singleArgument; }

var echo = returnValue;

returnValue("14");

script.js
var returnValue = function(singleArgument) {
  return singleArgument;
}

var echo = returnValue;

returnValue("14");

<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

You almost have it! In the second line you did not provide a value to the function (you did that in the third line). see below for the corrected code.

var returnValue = function(singleArgument) {
  return singleArgument;
}

var echo = returnValue("14");

Thank you, Chris!
