for the test on how to do nav, it asks you to link portfolio with index.html, I have done that as follows Portfolio And it tells me I am not connecting the portfolio with index, which I really feel like I'm dioing.

I'm pretty sure I've got this down right

for the test on how to do nav, it asks you to link portfolio with index.html, I have done that as follows <nav> <ul> <li><a href="index.html"></a>Portfolio</li> </ul> </nav>

And it tells me I am not connecting the portfolio <li> with index, which I really feel like I'm dioing.

please post your file directory and the <a> tag you're using to link the two pages.
