JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Passing an Argument to a Function

im stuck

the var is echo?

script.js
function returnValue(echo)
{
  return echo;
 }
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Hello,

you need to call the returnValue function as well, below the function. ie:

function returnValue(echo) { return echo; }

returnValue('just some value');

You need to call the function after declaring it, and add whatever argument you want.

In my case it's "Hello, World".

function returnValue(value) {
    return value;
}

returnValue("Hello, World!");

Happy Coding!

My thanks to everyone. I finally got thru the prerecquiste courses. I don't know how to remove my questions. I greatly appreciate everyone's help.
