== does a type conversion and the === does not.

parseInt("0") === 0 true, parseInt("2") === 2 true, "2" === 2 false, 2 === 2 true, "2" == 2 true

These both check for equal value, but the triple one ("===") also checks for the same type.

So. for examples:

if (42 == "42")  console.log("Numbers match strings with ==");
if (42 === "42") console.log("This message will not appear");
