I think you might be confused when the say to add the items to the nav element, but they want you to add the items to the <ul> that you added within the <nav>. Heres what theyre looking for:

I think I had the same problem. If you are using split screen doing the challenge questions, try going to full screen. It should respond. For some reason it doesn't let you type in answers if the screen is to small like on split screen mode. It took me hours to figure it out. Let me know if that worked
