JavaScript JavaScript and the DOM (Retiring) Making Changes to the DOM Appending Nodes

In the challenge question, are contentDiv and newParagraph variables considered "nodes" ?

is it correct to say that Parentnode.appendchild(childnode) is similar to contentDiv.appendchild(newParagraph) and in the video ul.appendChild(li) is also Parentnode.appendchild(childnode)

-just trying to make sure I get this. Ignore my denseness

Hi there! Yes, in this context contentDiv would be the Parentnode and the newParagraph would be the child node. When we append a child to a parent we're placing the child inside the parent. This is after all what makes an element a child, being located inside (at the top level) of another element.

Hope this helps! :sparkles:

thank you
