I'm receiving the unexpected token '}'error message for this code. I'm using the if statement to the best of my attempt. Is it the (e) parameter that needs to be changed?

21,326 PointsI think in this case the reason you are getting the unexpected token error is because you added a '(' before the 'LI'.
If you remove the parentheses just before the 'LI' on this line, I think that will solve your issue.
if (event.target.tagName == ('LI') {

8,146 PointsYou are close, but the tagName you are looking for is INPUT not LI. A good way to test this is to add console.log(event.target.tagName);
to the code right below section.addEventListener('click', (e) => {
and then using Chrome, press F12 and select Console. Whenever you select a text box or click save, it will log the tagName in the Console.
section.addEventListener('click', (e) => {
// console.log(event.target.tagName); // UNCOMMENT TO SEE WHAT TAGS ARE BEING SELECTED
if (event.target.tagName === 'INPUT') {
e.target.style.backgroundColor = 'rgb(255, 255, 0)';
}
});

8,146 PointsYou are spot on Keith. I didn't even catch the parenthesis. Good one!
