Inside the shout.js file, write the code for an alert dialog with the message 'I DID IT!' I don't know how to do this?

I don't know how to complete this one step of the JavaScript series. Can someone help me?

index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
  <script src="shout.js">
  </script>
  <script> alert(" I DID IT! ");
  </script>
</body>
</html>
shout.js

you need to move your script into the shout.js file. you currently have it in the index.html file. You might also want to remove the extra spaces in your alert. these challenges are strict at times.

You already have a link beetwen index.html and shout.js : <script src="shout.js"></script> You just have to write the javascript instructions into the shout.js file :

alert(" I DID IT ! ");
