Yes!
When comparing values with === cases are compared.
If you want to compare for matching content without the case, convert them like so:
if (variableToCheck.toUpperCase() === 'ID') {}
or
if (variableToCheck.toLowerCase() === 'id') {}

Yes, JavaScript is case sensitive. That means that id and ID can be 2 complete different things.
