1,712 PointsIs it possible to delete the 'wp' from my domain name after I have completed these steps
I completed these steps a couple of months back, I am in the process of learning - and I have done a bit of work on my current website, however to access the site I have to type in /wp after my domain name. Is there a way to delete this?

12,793 PointsWhy not backup the whole site then just move all of your files to the root of the public_html and remove the wp folder? It depends what you have already done to the site, it might break some links however you'll never no until you try. Just do this then let me know the outcome and I could further assist.

1,712 PointsI've done that - and now there is an error establishing a database connection... I can't remember what I need to change or edit so that this is no longer a problem. Any ideas?

12,793 PointsRight had a dig about for you, I was slightly wrong haha I haven't ever needed to change the directory, it was stupid for me to say that. So if you look at http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
Then go to the changing directory walk through, it's pretty self explanatory from there.
Put your site back into that WP folder before you start.
If you need me to explain any of the steps let me know.
