Is Sql and Mysql the same

I have a my SQL class I am taking in my SQL class in college so I am trying to figure out what lesson in teamtree house can help me

Hi Samuel,

SQL is a programming language used for interacting with databases. MySQL is a database system that understands SQL. There are other databases that use SQL as well, such as PostgreSQL or SQLite.

If you are interested in learning SQL on Treehouse then I would recommend doing the Beginner SQL track.
